The Independent Living Center of North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc. turned 25 years old! We welcomed all who have had a part in our 25 years of service and advocacy for people of all ages with all disabilities to live as independently as we choose. We enjoyed light refreshments, coffee, tea and a connection with ILCNSCA board, staff, volunteers and supporters to lead the way for the next 25 years of The Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc.

The Massachusetts Senate Resolutions
Congratulating the Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc. On its Twenty-Fifth Anniversary.
Whereas, The Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc., located in the city of Salem, was established in 1987 and will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2012; and
Whereas, since its establishment, the Independent Living Center has steadfastly pursued its mission to support those with disabilities by supporting the ability of such persons to live independently and participate fully in the community; and
Whereas, the Independent Living Center tirelessly works to achieve its goal of providing positive social change, the removal of discriminatory obstructions and the development of an encouraging and fully available community environment for those with disabilities; and
Whereas, the Independent Living Center offers independent living skills training in areas such as housing assistance, financial management and transportation access, always tailoring their services to best fit each individual situation; and
Whereas, the Independent Living Center is a zealous advocate for those with disabilities, providing educational materials to public officials to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of those with disabilities; and
Whereas, the Independent Living Center has become a leading service and advocacy center for people with disabilities in the region by embracing the philosophy of maximizing independence, a belief reflected in the centers creed of "nothing about us without us"; now therefore be it
Resolved, that the Massachusetts Senate hereby congratulates the Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc. on its twenty-fifth anniversary; and be it further
Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be transmitted forthwith by the Clerk of the Senate to the Board of Birectors of the Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc.
