All People Accessible Business Project (APAB)

At this monthly APAB meeting, a APAB volunteer training needs will be addressed along with a review of APAB training survey results. There will also be a discussion regarding volunteer educating businesses about APAB services.

Community Access Advocacy Team (CAAT)

This month we invite CAAT volunteers and others interested in working with ILCNSCA to conduct accessibility surveys of homeless shelters in the North Shore/Cape Ann. Advocacy related to increasing accessible transportation options (i.e. Uber and accessible taxis) and other community accessibility issues will be discussed.

Valentine’s Day Luncheon at Fantasy Island

The suggested donation is $5.00 for person with a disability and $5.00 for their PCA (if needed). The suggested donation for a person without a disability is $9.00. The donation covers the cost of a luncheon special plate and drink. All reservations must be prepaid via cash or check made payable to ILCNSCA and received at ILCNSCA by February 5, 2016. Spaces are limited.

Project offers ILCNSCA consumers and supporters a chance to advocate for full access in the community. ILCNSCA will recruit persons with disabilities, and others: especially seniors and youth interested in becoming volunteer APAB Surveyors of ILCNSCA.

 

These Surveyors will conduct accessibility surveys of selected North Shore and Cape Ann Businesses throughout the 25 municipalities of ILCNSCA service area.
