Special Olympics 2018 Winter Games
With the Winter Olympics in full swing, we’d like to inform you about Massachusetts’ Winter Games, held in March. This multi-weekend event ties together winter sports into one big finale. What’s more, these Winter Games empower the disability community through active participation as athletes and spectators alike. There are various sports featured in the games. Let’s take a look:
- Basketball – The basketball games will play on March 4, 10, and 11. On March 4, there will be a game in the junior league for ages 8-15, as well as a game in the Unified Sports Player Development league, for all ages. On March 10 and 11, there will be a traditional seniors game for ages 16-21, as well as a Unified Sports Seniors game for the same age group.
- Floor hockey, bowling, dance & Olympic town – These games will all take place on March 10 and 11.
- Alpine skiing – Lastly, this game will be played on March 17 and 18.
We’re very excited for the Olympics and Winter Games. We’ll be cheering on these teams from all over the state and wish the players luck in representing Massachusetts. From all of us here at ILCNSCA, go team! Keep up to date with our monthly blogs to see the winners of the games.
