Remembering Shawn McDuff
It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our friend and colleague Shawn McDuff. He passed away last weekend surrounded by his family. Shawn started working at ILCNSCA in 1990 and has been instrumental in the agency’s work to empower people living with a disability to embrace their own path.
Shawn was a fierce advocate for Independent Living and has graciously shared his own experience as living with a disability. He founded several of our programs including All People Accessible Business Project, Transition to Adulthood Program and more.
Shawn had a passion for food and for sports. His favorite teams Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics all in that order. He had a passion for music, funny movies and reality TV.
Shawn’s zest for life was infectious. He always strived for more and always achieved it. Shawn was a mentor to many people including all of us here at ILCNSCA. He showed us all how to live life to the fullest and to never give up. Rest in peace Shawn McDuff. We all miss you
