ADA Proclamations 2016

Each year, the Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc. approaches all of the municipalities in its service area requesting that they proclaim July 26 as "ADA Day", recognizing the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the civil rights legislation, providing people with disabilities protection from discrimination in employment, government services, housing, public accommodations and in many other areas. Below is a list of municipalities that did proclaim July 26, 2016 as the "Spirit of the 26th Anniversary of the ADA" Day.

Beverly, MA ADA Proclamation

Beverly, MA

I, Michael P. Cahill, Mayor of the City of Beverly, Massachusetts, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the people of Beverly as an elected official, do hereby proclaim July 26, 2016, as Spirit of the 26th Anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).

I urge all citizens of the City of Beverly, its community leaders, businesses and government officials, to celebrate the contributions that people with disabilities have made and continued to make.
